Founder & CEO
JT Guerrero, Ph.D.
JT Guerrero, Ph.D., is the founder and CEO of Equalyx, LLC, an educational consulting firm that specializes in helping students and their families plan for college. Dr. Guerrero has spent more than 20 years working in K-12 and higher educational institutions. She has provided leadership and strategic advising to students, families, schools, school boards, and university leaders to promote opportunities for student success.
Dr. Guerrero has consulted with organizations such as The College Board, the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), K-12 schools and school districts, and state departments of education. She has presented at numerous workshops and conferences to equip parents and educators with strategies, techniques, and best practices in these areas.
Previously, Dr. Guerrero worked in higher education undergraduate admissions and directed pre-college Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement programs. Through these experiences, she developed a unique understanding of the challenges and complexities of students seeking to gain college credit from these programs. She also noticed that participation in these courses was limited and not always equitable. Dr. Guerrero has made it her mission to spread awareness of the potential for accelerated courses to save students time and money towards college graduation. She leads a team of educational experts who focus on areas of student accessibility, transferability, and affordability.
Dr. Guerrero earned a B.A. in journalism from Louisiana State University, an M.A. in English education from Delta State University, and a Ph.D. in educational leadership, evaluation, and organizational development with a concentration in higher education administration from the University of Louisville.
